dealership doesnt know what there talking about?
i posted a thread awhile back about my gauges from the factory,my speedometer reading 110mph,stupid option for a z to have but its an eyesore its a true z,but somebody said i had to change out the dash cluster, fine so i call the dealership and ask them if they can change the speedo and they say they cant do it because of some kind of speed sensor that would have to be cahanged and the computer so am i getting the run a round or what?or is this guy at the dealership just not want too mess with my car?
dealership never knows what there talkin about...chick at the chevy service counter had a 99 z, she swore to me up and down that she had a LT1..I just laughed at her and told her to pop the hood and well see whose right...she just laughed....they are very unknowlegable about camaros(some) because they rarely sell em/work on em i guess.
guy at the dealer told me that he can get me the Hot-Cam for my '97 for around $500. I asked him if it came with the lifters and springs...he replied... "its designed to work with the stock lifters and springs and you dont even have to change out the rockers for any performance gains" since then, i've never been back to a dealer to get a performance part quote or anything. Stay Away...if you're smart!!!!
The dealership gave me the same song and dance about reprogramming and what not. I got a used cluster and added a white face overlay. You can even put your original odometer on the new cluster. Just take your time it isn't very hard.
Same experience with dealer here.... The idiot at the counter got an attitude whe I insisted to him that my z-28 did come with shocks in the rear.... he insisted that since my z-28 had springs in the back it didnt need any shocks at all an there was no part number for them.... I told him I have checked other companies around and they have given me price quotes.... then he asked me to bring my Registration in for the Vin number....so I did... then he quoted me 177.00 for each De-carbon shock (the stocker ones).
I mentioned him about SLP selling the Take-offs for 25usd a pair with only about 5 miles on them... His reply was "then you dont need to be buying anything here" I reply "you dam right I dont."
