Dead 97 Z ???????
The car won't do anything. No dome light, no horn, no power to PCM. I have power at the Battery and at the positive junction block on the strut tower. Only tested these with a 12V test light. Only thing I had at the gas station before I trailered it home. The dome light only came on briefly when the door was opened and then went off and still no power.
I recently did a tune up. New opti, plugs, wires and water pump.
Ran fine for a couple of days then it would hesitate on start up like loose power. Turn key again and start. It did that twice before no start and no power as described.
I checked some fuses but not all (Too cold to stand outside and pull minis) I'm going to check all fuses and then go to fusable links. I just wanted to get a few more ideas in case there is something I miss.
Sorry for the long story but trying to get all that I know in for now.
BTW It's a 1997 Z28 M6 and all the grounds that I took off during tune up made it back on. (I made sure)
Thanks for any help you can give. Hoping somebody else has seen this and can point me straight.

Yea sounds like the battery. Keep in mind it may read 12v or turn a test light on, what matters though is what its putting out under load. You may find that soon as your key is turned over you dont get squat. I'd check to make sure you have all the wires correct on the alternator to be sure its charging the battery. I forgot the charge wire once. Also, if you did anything with the wires in that possitive and negitive block on the wheel well. Make sure you didnt put any negitives on a possitive or vise versa.

I checked voltage at the battery and have 12.5V. Used a DVOM.
Even if it was weak, I still should have lights. It does not even click buzz anything. Even a surface charge gives that.
I will check futher on it tomorrow.
Thanks for the suggestion.

A good battery should read 14-15v. A bad battery can easily show 12v and not give you anything under load. Find something that pulls a good amount of current on 12v systems and hook it to the battery. Let us know
