daytime driving lights
There is a little box behind the radio. It has two plugs(blue and gray) if you pull out the the smaller one your drls go away. You will also loose the little "BRAKE" light on the dash. It was the first thing I did on my brother's 02 WS6.
The "headlight" drl's are a Canada only item AFAIK. Do your parking and instrument lights come on also? Anyway, I dont know if they have that module behind the radio. With that photocell sensor on the dash, I would just cut the wires to it and install a toggle switch to enable/disable the the sensor.
The front "blinker light" drl's ('97 up U.S.) use a differnent system. No photocell sensor. They simply turn on when you release the parking brake on an M6, or, just guessing on an A4, take it out of park. They have that module behind the radio, and those are the only lights it uses. If you turn your lights on, the system is defeated.

hey guys I might be able to help!
I have a 96 z28 and when I got it from the dealership from the last guy that sold it to me, I started the car at night and the lights never came on. They told me on here that I never had the option but I opended up the LED light and sensor panel and there it was. They had taken out the sensor and just simply put a piece of metal between the two contacts. It hasent messed up the system or anything. I have been running it for almost a year now. The only weird thing I have had is sometimes my headlights would turn on for no reason at dusk but would go off a few minutes later not to turn on again for a couple of months. Weird.
There is considered a "proper" way to disable this. You have to use a resistor but Im not sure what ohm of resistance. I saw it on this forum somewhere and if you search the net these is instructions on this. The sensor is a photo cell which can create or reduce the amount of resistance causing the sensor cell to work as a switch.
My opinion, the piece of metal works the best so far and is the most simple. The other way you have to cut into the wires on the other side of the photo cell jack and add the resistor.
Good luck!
