The passenger's side head was a little stiff coming off the rear dowel pin. When it finally let go, I let the head slip and fall on top of the pin. It created a slight gouge in the head.

I took a razor and shaved off the raised portion of the gouge. Given it's location, will this thing be fine to reinstall without resurfacing it?

Yeah that is minor, you should see some of the intakes and heads I port that have these huge casting pores that like to show up

 

Just make sure it does not protrude. Hit it LIGHTLY with a fine flat file if it does. No problem.
