Damper Question

May be a stupid question but I was just wondering how does the damper stay on if there is no rib for the belt on it?

[QUOTE=unTAmedLS1]actually what I meant was how does the belt stay on[/QUOTE

The damper has groves in it, as does the belt, and there is a tensioner pulley that keeps the belt tight against it and all the other pulleys.

The second one has a snout on the back of it, making it stick out farther to align with the belt. The first one, I don't know, maybe a pully mounts on the front of it.
