damper hub bolt = loctite

so i had this knocking sound start not to long ago, and it has been getting worse. it sounded just like a bad belt tensioner so i just replaced that because i really did not have time to get into it last week and it was like the only thing not new under the hood.

when that did not fix the problem i dove further into it today and eventually found that the damper hub bolt had backed out allowing the hub to back out slightly and let the crank sprocket bounce around, causing the knocking noise. this motor only has like 3500 miles on it and i know i had that bolt tight before. lucky for me the bolt had not backed out completely and i caught it in time.

just figured i would put this out there to warn others, its a good idea to put loctite on there

You probably didn't torque it enough. I've had mine off 10+ times and it never backed out on me.

Your crank sprocket moved? That thing is usually on there pretty tight!
