cylinder heads....

what would be the best performance heads for an lt1?

Stock LT1 heads can be ported to produce 500 flywheel HP. Above that, you might want to look at the Trick Flows, or the AFR's. Neither those would match well-ported LT1's out of the box, but could exceed them with the proper porting (and combustion chamber cc reduction on the TF's.).

This is a pretty loaded topic and you need to give more specs about the rest of the engine and setup but IMO www.advancedinduction.com is the answer any way you cut it. For most purposes the stock heads with porting are the right choice, on a wilder setup they are capable of 500+ at the rear wheels, over 600flywheel naturally aspirated, over 1000rwhp with boost.

I should be receiving my 200cc heads with matched cam from AI next week for my 383, built for the street to run on pump gas (~10.8:1 CR). Let's see what kind of power we can squeeze out of the small block....
