Question cutout running open for the last 2 years now. plugs go bad now??

Okay was wondering does running the cutout open all the time make the plugs fry faster? I have been running the car with the cutout open for 2 years now..but since going on the highway to Fla. now comming back its running rough..ON THE WAY DOWN AND BACK I HAD IT CAPPED..but now its like running rough and skips..was wondering could it be the plugs???? possible????

Describe what you mean by "rough". If it's higher RPM misses it's the opti. If it won't rev high at all you may have a clogged fuel filter. Did you stop and use any jenky gas stations on your trip? May also been some burned spark plug wires. THe actual spark plugs are unlikely. The only thing I've heard that a cutout could do is burn valves should is highly unlikely. Lots of people, including myself, run with the cutout open all the time.

well you know your car idles and you know how it runs..basically knows its "personality" of the way it feels..and its not feeling the same way....
its rough in the way its not smooth at idle just a small little skip of rough idle..almost like a mild cam..sort of..and the such..but nothing like that...its just rough...and at WOT..it has a skip at about 5K..and does it like its missing maybee..

Like DjArcadian said, if it is a high rpm miss than it is probably opti related. How many miles are on the original opti?

Well, BOTH of my 0@ sensors have crapped out on me simultaneously and its causing a rough idle. Not under acceleration of ANY kind, just when I'm coming to a stop or at a red light. SO it could be your O2 sensor(s). YOur plugs could be arcing, it could be a number of things.
