over a catback?

I have an SS so I already have 3" pipe, so when I get headers will I still see a gain like that with cutouts?

I picked up 7RWH NA on the dyno with it open. I have SLP 1 3/4" headers, SLP Y-pipe, 3" exhaust, etc.

So would a single cutout after the Y be just as good as one cutout off each header?

I would have to test that but initialy I would say yes because of resonance right after the collectors. But someone that knows alot more than me would be a better source.

I have a SS also. So i also have the 3inch exhaust. I put mint after the Y-pipe. I bet i will see even more gain when i put my LT's and ORY on next week. I would put it after the y. Just remember if you put it. Right off the Headers very very loud and may even sound like a farm truck. just my .02

Then again i have never heard a car. with cut outs off the header it may be very cool.

Hmm
seems like this hasnt really been done.

might have to dyno once off the headers, then with the Y, then with the rest of the exhaust.
good thing they ahve a dyno right there and like me.... I hope

Hey?...Somebody mention my name?...LOL Yup, the cut-out was worth 2/10's on my car. I'm not sure if a "cat-back" will get you 2/10's, but I can tell you that a cut-out is alot cheaper and easier to install.
Mine is in my MAC ORP, where my cat used to be. It's a manual unit, and it's extremely easy to get to from the side of the car, to uncap it.
I'm sure there's quite a few here that would disagree with me, but I hate the sound with it open. I'd never consider driving it on the street with it uncorked.
The only reason I put one on is because I wanted to move up a couple "rungs" on the "fastest LT1 list" in EFA. Everyone else was either running open exhausts or a cut-out. You know the routine..."If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"? I'm currently 9th, out of 740 members. My combination has an 11.80 in it. The new rear, and suspension stuff should get me close. 11.8 will put me in the #4 slot...Amongst strokers and lightweight cars. Not bad for a full weight/stock bottom end LT1?...LOL Air conditioning in the staging lanes! After I hit that mark, then it gets caged and nitroused.

I picked up just under 5hp and 1ft-lb with a cutout over the hooker exhaust.
Shows just how well the aerochamber flows
