I have a dmh ecutout on mine. I close it when im not in the mood to have everything rattled to death or when cruising near cops. Sometimes the noise gets to you and then you close it. I have never been pulled over for the cutout, but somehow i got pulled over when i had flowmaster, go figure. Id go with a ecutout so you can easily open and close. -Michael

 

I leave mine open all the time 100%. I dont think it's loud enough if you have stock exhaust manifolds on. I want it to be louder but sometimes it can get pretty loud when you don't want it to, like when your driving alongside a cop. I just got some Shorty headers and I'm going to be getting an off-road pipe and I'm kinda scared about how it's going to sound, lol! I can't wait tho.

Good thing I have an electric cut-out just in case. It always good to have an electric plate if you plan on always leaving your cut-out open and have headers. So many people look at your car in amazement and point. Just make sure your car doesnt look like crap or else they'll be pointing in laughter with that cut-out blarring. I saw a f-body with chipped paint and it was thrashed. The cut-out made the car seem so scary to look at. I just don't really like the crackle sounds when you downshift, but then again who cares.

 

i've never heard a cut out on a camaro around here. But i do have the slp loudmouth and people say that it is louder than a cutout. But yea i've never run into any problems with cops around here (::knock on wood:and we even have a sound ordinance for loud vehicles and loud car stereos...up to $1000

but everything is stock on my car other than the exhaust and slp cai....so i still have my cats....

 

I test-drove an LS1 with LoudMouth exhaust..OMG! was that loud. Dang! LoudMouth gives a crazy interior noise and vibration...I like it but man that's extreme. Yeah cut-out is much quieter..maybe cuz it's under the car and can't hear it much. The sound is directed different of course.

 

....and the LT1 is even throatier....ha i love it...only cost me $100 used....ha and it's in great shape...

 

I paid $40 to have a cutout fabbed and installed. It's definitely one of the best mods I've done yet! I run it uncapped everywhere I go with no cat, TPiS long tubes and a 2800 PI Vigilante...i love coming up on people walking on the sidewalk while I'm going to class and slamming it right when I'm behind them...skeers the hell out of em

 

I've been thinking about getting some loudmouths for a longtime....I'm just freaked out about how it's ganna sound but then again I'm not too worried about it. Lt1 even throatier..oh man your making me wanna bust out with my credit card. I was kinda thinking of making my own and then buying the tips so I can save money. But im happy with the cutout..maybe at tax time when i get money back I'll purchase it. Maybe when im drunk at the keyboard....bought some unessary stuff that way..ha ha
