I love mine open, but I only have stock exhaust besides the cutout. The only reason I close it is when I will have my girl in the car (don't always close it then ) and when I drive the car to work. (I work nights and I don't think everyone in the neighborhood, much less in my house wants to hear me pulling into the garage at 4-5am.

I just ordered a set of LTs, and I think it will probably be too loud after I install those and ditch the cats. We'll see though.

Definately too loud with Longtubes, and off road Y-pipe.
Plus it doesn't even sound that good, it just sounds like a big 'ol truck without a muffler (except WOT off course)
I'm glad I have an E-cutout, I can only open it when I need it

Maybe with longtubes, but i think mine sounds like an old school 350 camaro with a mild cam with it open. It sounds like its gonna bite your leg off I love it.

I'm gonna get an electric cut-out! I ran open headers for a while, and I miss the rowdy sound to a certain extent.

I've heard one car(LS1) with a cut-out and LT's. It was so loud it set the car alarm off on the car next to it when he fired it up.

It was WAY, WAY too loud.

Haha this is a funny post, I used to get away with it when my car was stock with bolt-ons, longtubes and dual 3" cutouts blowing out each door, it was loud but when I rebuilt the engine, heads, huge cam, etc etc I got pulled over the first time I tried it with the caps off...FREAKING NASCAR LOUD . You should be ok though with just one cutout back before the axle, it's not quite as loud.

I have CC306 and Jet Hot Longtubes with true duals that dump in front of the axle with bullet mufflers. Right behind each header is a 3 inch cutout that let's me convert to open headers.

The sound is unreal. It shakes the car and everything vibrates. People have told me they miss shifts when they are next to me because it is so dam loud.

Gotta love it.

It's too loud when you have headers and no cats. But not too bad when you still have the manifolds and cats.

Mine dumps after the cat and sounds awesome. I'm sure it would sound pretty mean if it dumped before the cat, but if I remember right I think you'd need 2.

That is AWESOME.

I am rebuilding next summer to a 355 with a Comp 230/236 cam and Jet-Hot longtubes to replace my SLP shorties. I already got true dual Bullets. I can't wait til my car is like yours.
