CSR pump bites the dust

well i bought it used with 1200 miles and I've had it on for probably 4000miles since late december. sitting at a light on my way to work, see my temp rising pretty darn fast. pulled it into the first parking lot i saw and shut her down, turned the key to ON and no sound from the waterpump and all the wiring checks out time for new one... where's the best deal on these?

I would triple check the wiring over. Thats a really really short life on a pump that most people get lots of use from.

I Agree, mine (cVr) took a dump a month ago. Ended up being the fuse.

Also check the relay. I keep an extra in the glove box just in case.

Yea, check all the wiring, fuses, relays, etc; Mine's still going strong after 40K miles.

I ran an LED from the power wire into the dash so I can tell when it's getting power.....you should do the same.

BTW I've had mine in for almost a year, and ~10-12k miles with no probs.

Re: CSR pump bites the dust

Maybe it really had a lot more than 1200 miles on it when you bought it

Re: CSR pump bites the dust

I bought mine when it was still CSI. Mine took a dump at around 500 miles. Went to a Mezeire and 5000 miles later still no problems. Good luck.

Re: CSR pump bites the dust

ya the girl is at work tonight so I get to tinker with my car when i get home, will check the relay, fuse, wiring etc. what exactly goes wrong with the relay? i was thinking that the 1200 miles might have been a "little" bit low, but i think i bought it off the boards here so i'm not gonna point fingers at anyone but myself right now. made me late for work though
