Cruise intermittently not working?

I have an odd problem.

Sometimes my cruise control will not work. When I push the button, nothing happens. And if this happens, it definitely won't work until the car is shut off and turned on again at a later time.

When it works, it works. It'll work until the car is shut off.

This seems to happen maybe 1 out of 10 times I try to use the cruise.

Any ideas?

Mine does this too. I think it is because I may have messed the wires a bit when I took the box off with the RR install.

Where exactly do all the respective wires run for the cruise system? Anyone have a diagram (Rob)?

Your problem could also lie in the sensors (or whatever they are called) on your brake and clutch. IE. when you tap your brake or clutch to kick out of cruise. If these are set too fine your cruise will not always work!! <----- according to the Chilton Manual!

mine does this too sometimes. All i have to do is shut it off and turn it on and then it works. It does it rarely but it does do it.

I have the same problem too. My cruise would work sometimes now it doesn't work at all. Does anyone know any test you can do with a voltmeter?

We'll I just found out my problem. While trying to set my cruise I lifted up my clutch pedal and it worked.
