Cruise Control + DR's + Rain = A Change Of Skivies!

so im driving to work this morning on the interstate with cruise at about 70. its raining and ive got nitto DR's on the rear. everythings going fine and then all of the sudden i hit this puddle and the cruise kicks down in like 2nd gear and the *** end comes around!! i get all crossed up and swirved over in the next lane, rear wheels still going because it hadnt registered to tap the brake yet. a second later i do tap the brake and the back end jerks and grabbs some road, but im pointed towards the woods! so im frantically steering the car across all four lanes (ive got skinnies btw) trying to straighten up without overcorrecting and ending up into a tree. i finally do get control, slow down to about 55, keep the CC off, and make it to work in one peice.

SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!!!

Thats crazy, at least your cars fine. That wierd my 97z which was an auto would never shift out of 4th on the cruise control, maybe there's a difference between the years.

NOPE...NEVER EVER DRIVE IN THE RAIN WITH Cruzie COntrol....the second u hit a big puddle, the computer thinks that the car is slowing down so it trys to accelerate to the set speed, causing your back wheels to go bizerker

Hahhahaha , scared the **** outta ya huh?? That will teach you not to be flying in the rain!! especially with friggin drag radials!!!!!! Man anything over 45 in the rain you have the likelyhood of getting outta controll. Glad to hear you pulled this one off without sending your car on a nature walk through the woods. drive slower next time jon ~~~~~~rob

My Dad had gatorbacks on the camaro (I own it now) and hit a puddle at ~80 and went sideways. No cruise. Went to Mich Pilots the next day.
