Cruise control does not work? Possible problems/troubleshooting

My cruise control does not work.
Fuse is good.

My theft deterent box underneath the glove box doesnt work either. So I bypassed it by jumping across the relay to it. This relay also bypasses the clutch switch, So i can start the car without having the clutch pedal in. Do you think that because of this the computer is sensing that the clutch pedal is pressed in so the cruise will not engage?
I put the relay back in after bypassing it to start the car but the cruise still wont work..

Anyone have suggestions on were to start troubleshooting.? Any tips.?

The cruise gets shut off if you press the brake or clutch.

Check the switches @ the pedals for misadjustment.

Where abouts are these switches and how do you adjust them?

The switches are right above your pedals... the levers on the pedals come in contact with the switch.

Thanks, I'll check that clutch switch to make sure its contacting.

any more ideas?

So when you said you put the relay back in, now you have to push the clutch in to start your car? If not then thats definatly your problem.
Or if u did, since you put the relay back in, make sure you hooked it back up correctly. Try to start the car w/o your foot on the clutch, hopefully you just hooked up the relay wrong.

no regardless if the relay for the theft deterent is plugged in or if if the theft deterent is bypassed cruise will not work.
I have to bypass the theft deterent to start the car. After that i can pull out the wire or plug the relay back in...

I know its bypassin the clutch switch along with the deterrent because i can start the car without pressing in the clutch.

Believe it or not, my cruise control quit working when one of the bulbs ib the wing mounted brake light burned out. Replacing the bulb fixed the CC.
