Crazy PITA misfire...need advice.

Ok, this is for my '97 Sonoma with the 4.3 5 speed. It seems to have a studdering misfire between 2200 and 2500 especially when I let off the accelerator or the cruise lets up. The cap, rotor, fuel filter, plugs and wires are like a year old or so and only have maybe 7000 miles on them. I have checked all the wires and stuff a few times. I recently gutted the cat and installed a caspers o2 sim. Yeah it sounds really bad, lol. Well any help will be very appreciated!

well since you did the O2 sim recently, I would try hooking back the O2 sensors and see if that's it.

Yeah I could try that. I forgot to say it isn't throwing any codes either. Thanks!

Sounds like your EGR is not closing freely. Remove and clean and then test it with an artificial vacuum (suck on the hose). This will confirm it's moving freely. Replace the gasket and torque to spec.
