crate motor options with 95 z?

does anyone know of any high-performance crate engine options for a 95 Z28 besides going with another stock LT1? I'd like to be in the 375 - 400 hp range in the end and am not having much luck finding any crates at all that would work without major mods.

Yes, they are around $5,000 if you order from a Chevy dealership. I just can't bring myself to spend that to only be a stock Z again =/

GM doesnt offer high performance options on crate engines on the LT1.... You can go to Aftermarket suppliers. IE: Golen Engine Service, etc.; that offer 400hp range...

Scoggin-Dickey has some very nice short blocks for about $4,500.00, with two different compressions available. 10.4 & 11.8 if I remember correctly.
There are also options from Combination Motorsports and Golen, both of whom have well deserved reputations for nice products. Cost varies depending on what you buy.

For that kind of money I'd just find someone to build me a 383 and call it jake.
