crankshaft question

looks like i'm going to be changing my crank out this weekend just wondering what i need to do it does any one know of a write up out there that i could use

Why are you changing your crank? is that *all* you're changing?!?

Just curious, you make it sound like it's no big deal, just pop and swap...(Which I guess for the *most* part is kind of true...),but more extensive than that...

Don't see how you can change it in the car. Not only that, you will have to get new bearings and make sure your oil clearances are good. IMO, you will need to pull the engine.

I think you are the one that had the bolt stuck in the crank snout. If so, did you get it out? If you got it out, you can drill and heli-coil the crank, so you don't have to replace it.

That just stinks.

There has to be a way to get it out. I would try everything possible, than having to go to the trouble of replacing the crank. Maybe a machine shop would have some good advice.

my thing is the crank hub is on all the way i just can't tourqe it down to 75 ft lbs i'm thinking why not just jb weld it and start building a 383 short block and replace the motor later on
