crankshaft bearings??

crankshaft bearings??

so i guess the crankhaft bearings are bad in my lt1.

whats the whole process of replacing them?

and costs if you have any idea..

if the bearings are really bad the crank will have to be cut down , and u will have to use over sized bearings .... if not to bad you might can get away with just polishing the crank.

Different machine shops have different prices


low oil pressure ? do you hear knocking ?


if it has high miles and regular crank rods pistons , it be cheaper to buy a lower mile engine out of a junkyard

Sounds like you are really not sure of what you have wrong. The engine has to be totally torn down to replace crank bearings.

Depends on how much damage has been done. Best case you can polish the crank as mentioned and use a standard bearing. Worst case you need a new crank and the block needs a line bore. Either way you won't know until it's stripped and miced.
