Im swapping a crank from a '94ish caprice into my 97 camaro. The crank from the caprice has no ring (I think its called a reluctor ring?) on the front of the crank for the crank position sensor. Do I just press this off my junk 97 crank and press it on the good old caprice crank? thanks

 

Well, you can just slide the reluctor off your '97 crank with your fingers (you may have to tap it lightly with something) and can use it on the older crank as long as you use the crank key from the '97.

That key has a little more "meat" on the raised portion to engage the reluctor.

 

I thought thesew cranks didnt have keys? Or did I just not look that closely at it when I took it apart...
