could this be my problem?

Ok ever since i have rebuilt my engine, i have not been able to get my car to idle once it gets warm. Well i was under my car yesterday messing around and i found a harness that was cut and tucked away.

Well come to find out its the harness for the passenger side front o2 sensor. so this whole time i've been running on rear o2 sensor, and my rears are deleted in the tune.

but the deal is, that front o2 harness that i found was cut, there is no pigtail on there at all. can i put a square connecter like on the rear o2 and plug it up to the o2 sensor thats there, or do i have to get one that is considered front o2 sensor and get the flat blade pig tail? someone was telling me that the rear o2s read different than the fronts, is that true?

I cant answer your question exactly, but you can not do any wire repairs to the o2 sensor wires itself. it gets sample air threw the connector to compare the ammout of oxygen in the air to the exhaust inside the pipe.

so if its the wire on the car its fine to fix by soldering, but if its the wire on the o2 sensor your going to need a new o2.

o2

yeah, sorry i wasn't clear enough. it is the harness on the car that has the connecter cut off, so i can put another connecter on there with no problem. but my other deal is nothing has ever thrown a code regarding the oxygen sensors, so i'm not sure. my car does run a lil rich, so i'm hoping this could be my problem. i get anywhere from 7-9mpg in city and i get 18-19 on the highway.

1994-1997 front O2 sensor pigtail (flat connector)
GM p/n 12102741
AC-Delco p/n PT368

A cheaper alternative here: http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonn..._pigtails.aspx

I dont understand why you wouldnt be getting a code for it. Then only thing i can think of is that it is tuned out. If that is the case then you problem might be the tune, or if the tune was dead on on before and something changed the air/fuel ratio on your car then 02's couldnt make the adjustment making the car run bad.
