Question Could 2 year old oil cause a car to overheat? ---

I sorta doubt it would , because the oil is YEARS old already ... but I was curious if for some reason 2 year old oil in your car (with 3k miles use) could possible cause your car to run hotter?

Would the answer be different for dino vs synthetic?

Thanks ---

If you knew the oil was 2 years old, why in the hell would you run the engine anyway?!

The answer is CHANGE THE OIL!

Well, the car sat for the last year and a half ... I told the shop to do an oil change, but I am not positive they did it ... its not on the bill.

I havent been able to crawl under the car to check the filter ( to see if its been changed ) since I got the car back. Its been raining EVERY day for the past 2 weeks.

I was just crossing things off my list of why my damn car is overheating after $3k in repairs, thanks ---
