Corvette accy. brackets on fbody
I want to relocate my alternator, but keep my AC and power steering.... So I was curious to know if the corvette accessory brackets would work on an fbody? Or, does anyone know of someone who makes a bracket that puts the alternator down low, but lets you keep the ac and power steering?
Thanks

Just realized the Corvette mounting isn't like I thought it was (AC and Alternator located on the top drivers side).... so maybe that's not what I'm looking for. Any other suggestions?

Guys,
I already manufacture a relocation alt bracket for the guys whom want to remove the ac and ps.
Due to the amount of requests that I have had, I began creating a setup which looses ac but retains ps.
I am in the final stages of completing a direct bolt on setup so you can relocate the alternator down low and still retains ps but you have to loose ac. So far, the setup is pretty slick.
Everything as usual will be made of T6061 aluminum. It should be available shortly (mid January) after final testing is completed.
Hopefully I'm not putting the carriage before the horse but it appears to be a working setup. There are just a few minor adjustments and shaping of the jigs that need to be done.

What about making a setup that keeps the power steering and ac on the passenger side, and put the alternator on the other side (somewhere like where the air pump sets)? Seems simple enough to me. I'll have to look around. Someone might already have a setup for a sbc that does that....
I'm moving to Houston next year, so that's why I want to keep the a/c. Otherwise in Nebraska here I would be fine without it.
Thanks

Chuck,
I've contemplated many different scenerios. The situation one runs through with using the alternator on the opposing side would be taking up the space that one would normally run a supercharger on.
My design will enable one to be NA OR Sc'd and not have problems. As I said, hopefully it all works out as planned.
I have a model that I have been testing with. I have to be sure that there are no other snags and the install for anyone would be simplistic and easy to understand without modifications to the car.

So for the 75%+ of us who are not supercharged, we will have to sacrifice our a/c to use your product, when we could simply put it on the other side? Why not make 2 designs??
Thanks

That is a possibility chuck. I can look into that. For now, I am concentrating on utilizing the passenger side for everything. I believe most of the guys whom have come to me have not been concerned with loosing ac as its is a pretty large weight saver off the front of the car.
Keep in mind, when using the ac, it essentially has to stay in the exact same spot as it would not be cost effective to run new lines and repressure and refill the ac lines.

The motor is completely out of the car, and the front end dissassembled. Maybe in a few years after I'm done with school and move back to Nebraska I can take out my a/c.... I know the benifits of not having it. I'm simply not willing to not have a/c while living in Houston. Maybe I'll change my mind...

I can definitly appreciate your situation. I have travelled into dallas and worked there for a short period of time and I can verify how hot AND humid it can get. I dont think I'd want to remove ac either!!
I do love the nice flat land out there... it was really open feeling :-)
