Correct Hypertech III # for '97 LT1?

On a google search I've see different numbers (#345752, 365752, 375752), but don't know which one is the right one. The Hypertech site doesn't even show models for LT1's anymore!

Re: Correct Hypertech III # for '97 LT1?

From what i ve just read on the site of hypertech:

http://hypertech.com/gmfeaturechart.html

1994 lt1 : part number=340752 or 30026
1995 lt1 : part number=345752
1996-1997 lt1 : part number 30027

i ve also do a search for you and i found this:

-Hypertech 365752 for LT1 96 Camaro/firebird
and
-Hypertech 375752 for 97 LT1 camaro/firebird

Dont buy this brand new because for 400$ it doesn t give you a lot.But i bought mine on ebay for 120$ because i ve change my gear for a 3.73 and the programmer can recalibrate your speedometer. Also with a 160 thermostat it can start your fan earlier wich is good.It also give you between 7 to 10 extra hp and 8 to 10 extra foot of torque.

Also it can change your shift point(since your an a4)

Buy a cable(80 bucks or so), unlimited madz28.com email tunes(50 bucks) and run the cable from you pc out the window if you dont have a laptop. Much better and upgradable tuning for 130 bucks.

There's a hypertech for sale that says its for a 1996 Z28, Formula, Firebird, and Transam. It's for the LT1. You said that the '96 and the '97 use the same model of hypertech. But then you said theyre different. Are they the same or is there a hypertech for the '96 and a hypertech for the '97? Both LT1's.

There's no way a single model could work on a 95 and a 96/97 since one is OBD-I and the other is OBD-II. The 345752 is only for the 95. The 96/97 is 30027:

Hypertech 30027 - Hypertech Power Programmer III - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Hopefully you read the part about the cost of a new unit not being justified. There are much better ways to actually improve performance, for a lot less money.

Re: Correct Hypertech III # for '97 LT1?

I have been satisfied with my Hyper tech, but I bought it in 95' when it was hard to find someone that knew how to do the programming. I bought it mainly to turn the fans on early since my car over heated in traffic from the day it was new. I also reprogramed the speedo for the rear gears when I changed them several times.
Now I am sure you can get more for less but a used one for cheap "could" be a good deal.
