Question Is this correct (hotcam related)??????????

I just finished installing the hotcam kit in my car. all went well everything is buttoned up nicely, however i have one question for you guys. Is my idle supposed to sound near stock? it has a small lope, not much at all. idles smooth, no ses light, not running hot, is this normal ?

Mine sounded stock as a rock, until the Lt's and all. A friend had one with some shorty headers. When he opened his cut-out, it chopped like crazy. I think the exhaust make a difference. Have you got it tunned yet? I recommend PCMFORLESS.com. Stopped my car from dying every time I hit the brakes.

Yeah, the little chop is still good. Makes ricers have to guess what you have before they run thier mouths.

I thought I was the only one , I have LT's and ORY, and it sounded no different, infact when I pulled the old cam and layed them down side by side I couldn't tell them apart (lobes looked all the same) but then again its not a radical cam, but it makes very good power mid range and up...I got pretty much what I expected, I only gained about .4 tenths in the 1/4 without tuning on a crappy 2.1 60' time.

My friend's LT4 HotCam car was REALLY quiet. Its good if you wanna be sneaky, like suggested above. But me...when I go cam...I wanna be HEARD! Gotta have some lope!!

Aside from the sound, you should enjoy the HotCam...one of my friend's brother's car was deep in 11s on HotCam, and another guy I know runs upper mid 7s in the 1/8th with one.

Mine is barely noticeable vs stock. It's great if you want to have a sleaper. PCMforLess tuning is outstanding for the hotcam. It's worth the money.
