Copper header gaskets WTF?
Re: Copper header gaskets WTF?
Those piece of crap headers(no offense intended) have bent flanges...it doesn't matter even if you buy hooker super comps, the flanges are stiil bend and need to be surfaced before installing, that is why they are leaking...
Re: Copper header gaskets WTF?
Really I didn't even consider having bent flangers. I figured there brand new everythings good. But I will see if I can tighten them down so they don't leak before I get them machined. You know what F that I shouldn't have to pay to get brand new headers machined they should perfect from the factory.

but I am pretty pleased with the rest of my exhaust duel 2 1/2 with an X-pipe and bullets.

drive it for a while till everything is warmed up pretty good, go home and let them cool off, do that a few times and then tighten the bolts, do it again and maybe one more after that ,
then a few weeks later check the bolts and c if they are tight , that might help em seal better

We check them with a straightedge, and if they are really bent, use the press to get them real close, then use then hold them on the large belt sander and that makes them perfect. Call local machine shops if a few heat-cycles and re-tightening doesn't fix it.
