Copper header gaskets WTF?
Copper header gaskets WTF?
I just put my pacesetter long tubes on with some Mr. Gasket copper header gaskets and they leak bad WTF? I put them on with the convex side out facing the headers and the concaved side of seal against the head. How tight do you have to tighten the bolts before it seals? I don't know whats going on.

did you go from inside out?
ome ppl use high temp rtv to help seal them

Ya, I went from the inside and worked my way out.
I figured if I just keep tighting them they will seal eventually

Alright get this so I took it for a burn then drove it home and let it cool off, then started it back up and the one side that leaked the most doesn't leak anymore but the passenger side still does. I bet that if tighten them down more and heat it up again it will seal. I heard from another post that they need to be heated up and cooled off a couple of times to soften the cooper.
but I am pretty pleased with the rest of my exhaust duel 2 1/2 with an X-pipe and bullets.
