cooling system

i have recently been having a problem with my cooling fans in my 94 z28 not turning on. they do turn on with the ac. i have changed all the sensors and relays. the other day i saw a plug hanging off of the radiator and it was my coolant level sensor would this keep the fans from operating? i plugged it in then parked the car. the next day i pulled the car back out to see if the fans would run and they cycled like normal.. any ideas? maybe that was the problem

Re: cooling system

The low coolant sensor would have nothing to do with fan operation. It has no connectivity to fan control. Some other problem (perhaps intermittent) must be occurring. Though, you'll only be able to chase it when it is happening.

Re: cooling system

What are your coolant temperatures? The fans do not run all of the time - they only turn on around 227 degrees (low) and 235 degrees (high). Once the engine cools down, they turn off.
