Cooling problems

Alright i need some help cause I;m stumped. To start off all parts, water pump, t-stat and radiator are working. Just replaced the water pumped three days ago. Fans are also running. If I don't run the heat in my car the temp goes above the middle mark. If i turn on the A/C it jumps to almost the 260 mark. I have a 185 t-stat and won't stay close to it if the a/c is on or if the heat is off. When the heat is on it runs just fine. but in Ga that doesn;t work in 90 heat lol. If anybody has any suggestions thanks. Keaton

Re: Cooling problems

A stock thermostat is 180°. Are you sure you are using an LT1 thermostat and not an SBC one? Bleeding the air out of the system is usually the thing that hangs up most people. Make sure that is done and that the system is full.

Re: Cooling problems

yes just checked the t-stat package 180 and bled the air out of it. Anti-freez is spraying out of it and the radiator is full.
