Cooling problem, help with Freescan
Cooling problem, help with Freescan
Hey everyone,
Been working on a cooling problem. Car heats up (over 230 degrees) while idling, fans never come on. The fans will come on with the A/C or if I jump the pins. Car cools down while going down the road (180 degrees). Used to always stay around 180. No codes thrown or SES. I used Freescan and in the "Sensor Diagnostic" tab at a temp of 229, looking at coolant temp the scaled reading was 108.5, Volt reading was 3.86 and A/D was OXC4. What does all that mean? I replaced the thermostat, changed coolant and bled system. Any ideas?

Re: Cooling problem, help with Freescan
108.5 degC is the sensor reading, based on a 3.86 volt signal from the sensor. That's 227.3 degF, so the low speed fan should have come on. It's programmed for 226 degF, I believe, then 235degF for the high speed.
