Cooling fans coming on when starting the car?oil gauge is not working? code 33?

I have a 94 z28,did the le2 swap a/c delete.I'm getting a code 33,but goes away when driving?the oil gauge isn't working no more I relocated it to the back of the intake because of passetter headers, maybe sensor is broke? also my fans come on as soon as I start the car?

The fans are suppose to come on once the check engine light is on due to a code set. So thats normal, I would change the MAP sensor and check the wiring to the oil pressure sensor and change the sensor if the wiring checks out ok.

DTC 33 is common with large cams, because they don't pull enough vacuum at idle. The LE cams seem to have this issue.

Did you hook the wire up to the oil pressure sensor?

Did you have any other codes when you scanned it?

Oh, missed the part about the cam swap. Sorry, thats probably the problem with the map code then.

I dont have a steady light on some times it doesnt even come on, I cleared on code,so that shouldnt cause the fans to come on I changed the map sensor already I guess its in the tuning? I dont have any broken wires I think the oil sensor might be bad?

Does your oil gauge spike to the top when the car is running? If so the wires not hooked up .

The oil sensor won't turn on the SES light. Broken wires (open circuit) will cause the gauge to peg on the high side.

The MAP code will come on when the engine is idling, because that's when the PCM looks for a reading higher than 68 kPa.

Oil sensor was just bad,I'm more so worried about the fans, is the check engine light from the map sensor making fans come on?

There only a few things that would trigger this from what I know of. PCM, coolant temp sensor (in water pump), coolant / engine temp sensor, or a bad wire some how grounding the wires to trigger the fans on. The computer uses a ground to turn on the fans. (does not send power to fans, grounds fans to turn on through relays)

The most frequent cause of the fans coming on at startup is a blown fuse for the AIR pump. But that would show up as a code for the AIR system, and you say you don't have any codes except DTC 33.

And is there a "good" fuse in the circuit for the AIR pump?
