Cooling fan problem, Please help

I being having this problem since have had this car...May engine temp will go up to 240 degrees before my fan will come on...I don't this is normal..I thought that my low fan was suppose to come on at 220 and high temp at 235-240.when my ac is on only 1 of my fans is on and I thought both of my fans was suppose to be on. also I thought the fan on the passenger side is the low temp fan and on the drives side is the high temp...But when the car temp goes up to 240 my fan on the drivers side is the fan that cuts on....put the fan on the pass will never come on...Do any body have any suggestions what I should do.

Go to Shoeboxes website. There is a pretty easy way that you can test your fans by using a jumper on some pins.

sounds like your low speed fan motor is out

with a/c on...........both fans should be on at high speed.

pull a relay

look under it you'll find a bunch of numbers. 85, 86, 87, 87a, and 30

dont mess with 30, 87, and 87a

this might get confusing here. you now have 85 and 86 left to mess with right.
turn key on. (not engine) with a test light grounded to neg. batt.........check which of the two terminals is getting power on your relay center. if 85 is getting the power then you need to ground 86 and vice versa. the relays are all not the same. some have + on 86 and some on 85. they are reversable. 85 and 86 power the relay with + and - . hope i havent given you a headache and dont blow your fuses.

He has a 1993. Only 2 fan relays and primary and secondary fans, not low and high speed like later models have.

Lots of info on my web site. Cooling system stuff here.

You might just have a bad temp sensor in the waterpump.
