cooling coming out of overflow
cooling coming out of overflow
Well i have coolant coming out of the overflow and the wierd thing bout it is it will only do it after i have turned the car off i have bout numerous caps so i dont think it could be that and i have herd people say it can be the radiator were the cap and the radiator meet. i honestly dont think it is a head gasket cuz the car runs to good to be a head gasket and there is not oil in the water or water in the oil and i dont have white smoke coming out just a little condensation at first then goes away. i have done a pressure test and came up with nothing.
Re: cooling coming out of overflow
sounds like to me you had trapped air that made it's way out after the shut down do to a slight increase in temperature. Try checking the coolant level when it's cold in both the overflow tank and the radiator. Start it up and observe the level in the radiator to see if it goes down when the flow starts. If so top it off. Shut if off and let it cool over night. Recheck the level and top it off as need. Shut it up and try it. Observe the fans whether they come on at various times such as when you turn the AC on or when it warms up.
Re: cooling coming out of overflow
i don't want to seem stupid but how do we post our own questions? i decided to log on cause my check engine light went on today but i don't know how to. i know you guys will be able to help me as you seem quite knowledgeable. i have spent 5,000.00 fixing my car and i really am hoping that i won't have to spend too much more with this engine light going off. please help.
Re: cooling coming out of overflow
Have u put a new radiator in it? I installed a new radiator in my car and had the same problem. Turns out my over flow and return hoses were switched. Not sure if this will help or not but I figured any help is better than none.
