coolent leak toward the back of the engine??

at the track last night and noticed a coolent smell....popped the hood and couldn't see anything around the radiator but when I looked under the car I could see water dripping down toward the back of the engine. Other than the coolent line running from the back of the heads I can't imagine what else could be leaking back there.....opinions?

Besides an intake gasket leaking, i'd say its probably the crossover tube.

it just strikes me as odd though. The aftermarket heads have been on the car for two years now and then out of the blue the crossover tube starts leaking? Think it just worked itself lose or possibly the o ring failed? It's been so long since I put the heads on the car I can't even remember if there was an o ring....

You could rule out the Intake as the only coolant that passes thru an LT1 intake is in the throttle body and that is in the front. The cross over tube would be where i would start , then heater hoses and finally the head gaskets. The best way to find it is to preasure test it with a cooling system preasure tester. Steven

Could be the o-rings on your oil cooler leaking. The cooler
bolts between the block and your oil filter on the rear
drivers side.

Either the Crossover tube or a head bolt. (at the back)
