coolent help!!!!

coolent help!!!!

hey guys i blew a hose on my 97z fully stock.. i replaced it and refiled the raideater... turned on the heat full blast and waited for the therno to open..but all it did was the coolent would go down and right back up again ... than as i was going to add coolent when i could it bubbled over???? i cant seem to get the thing full... and when i do get it full it bubbles out of the over flow bottle???? HELLLLPPP...

Not exactly an "Advanced Tech" topic, so lets move this to "LT1 Based Engine Tech".

Are you using the two air bleeders as you fill it?

thanks for the help... sorry about the post im kinda new to this and learning on the way.... but i have to say this web site has helped me alot keep up the great work guys ..

Yeah, those bleeders are pretty important. I think Shbox mentions it, but cover your opti with something to keep it from getting wet when bleeding. I forgot to close a bleeder for a few seconds after it started flowing, and a plastic bag saved me life. Otherwise I would have been redoing the coolant again when I had to change the Opti. Ha!

thanks for the help guys... now im going to look really stupid... but like i said im learning this as i go... what is the opti-spark??? and where is it ????

The opti is the distributor. It's located directly beneath the water pump.
