Coolent in oil

I just replaced my intake manifold gasket and the oil was green from coolent. I checked the overflow bottle and my coolent was a dirty brown color. I took my car and had my oil changed and coolent flushed. I drove it 15 miles and checked the coolent again, and it was already dirty. I know this is some serious stuff, but my car is running great. The temp never gets over 210 so i dont know if it is even worth the trouble to figure out. I was just wondering what you guys think.

Sorry about the long post

Sounds like a blown head gasket.....better to fix it now while its running good to avoid major damage.

More than likely its the head gaskets.I suggest you start learning how to do it real quick,or if you know someone that you can help do it and learn.

If you have coolant in the oil, your bearings are not going to last very long. Your learning curve is going to get a lot steeper (compared to just heads) if you have to get into the bottom end because of bearing failure (plus way more $$).

how do you tell if there is coolant in your oil? wouldn't there be spots on the dipstick showing that bc they do not mix. I just replace my coolant and I used a 25/75 mix more water and I looked at mine and it was a yellowish green is that normal, someone said the inside of the radiator might have rust on it and that could be causing the discolorization. If it was a blown head gasket you would know it right by the dipstick?

Total costs of my head gasket replacement project was ~500.00 .. that included dropping the heads off at Stealy Performance.

change oil...put oil in clean soda bottle....allow to sit overnight.....antifreeze will sit on the bottom in the morning which means your head gasket is blown...happened to me... sucked to walk out in the morning and find it

wait...

Like Z95M6 said, if you have oil in your coolant or vise versa, it will look like light colored chocolate milk. It will all get mixed up like a blender and thats why it would look like that, especially after you've just drove it. And you would see it on the dip stick too.

call me stupid but from what he said, and what i got out of it...doesnt sound like coolant + oil. If the coolant is dirty brown, o well, it's dirty. Oil lookin green? Well, oil + coolant doesnt make green oil, sorry, I wish we had multi-colored oil too! Oil + coolant makes white/brown mushy crap! Kinda like cold melted marshmellow...stuff(ya, technical term). Just thought I'd add that. If I'm wrong, shoot me
