Coolant Level Light
Coolant Level Light
After I got my optispark changed out by the local stealer.....the coolant level light keeps coming on in the dash. At first it was intermitent, but now stays on all the time.
I can't locate the sending unit or any plug.
Yes, it's topped up.
thanks

Re: Coolant Level Light
If you're stupid like myself............you can just unplug it and the light will go off. I watch my guages like a hawk so I'm not to concerned about it. After replacing it and it still didn't go off, I said screw it and unpluged it..........nomore light.
*EDIT* If it has not been long since the "stealer" replaced the opti, INSIST they fix it. They probly won't but MAYBE they will.

Re: Coolant Level Light
An interesting thing happend, my bird was wrecked (see sig) it sat on jackstands for a couple months only getting ran once every few weeks to get it up to temperature and then clean out the carbon. Before it was put up the coolant light would come on as soon as it got to temp, once when i went to start it the coolent level had dropped a good bit in the radiator, topped it up looked for leak couldnt find one and now the coolant light doesnt come on anymore (its back off jackstands). if you can leave it on jackstands for about a week, top it up when its on jackstands, then take it off and coolant light should go off...
my best guess is my heater wasnt working very well before the wreck, after it sat up the heater started working great, so i suspect i had air in the heater core and it worked its way through the system while it was sitting with the front on jackstands and the rear of the car on the ground.
