Angry Coolant leak

OK it apears that i am leaking coolant. It seams to becomeing from the "weep hole?" on the bottom of the water pump. Does this mean it is time for a new one also how much of a pain is it to replace? Any links for a how too? Thx

Its not to bad. I thought the hardest part was scraping the old gasket off. If your car has a lot of miles, you might want to replace the opti while your doing the w.p. I dont know whats involved in the ele. w.p, but it gives a couple hp.

When the weep hole leaks it go on the opti, so i would get it replaced asap IMO.

Definately replace the opti if the water pump is leaking. You can most likely get buy with a cap and rotor replacement. To convert to an electric water pump, you will need the electric pump (a CSI is about $135 from Summit or a local hotrod shop) and a dremel tool. Basically you will pull the old water pump out of the car, press the drive gear out of it, press in a freeze plug that comes with the kit, notch the housing a bit using the dremel and put the electric motor in. Then just put the thing back into the car and wire it up.

This may help a bit.
