coolant hoses on back of heads

on my 96 these hoses connect and run to the small port right below my radiator cap. Should there be fluid flowing through this port into the radiator or is is just for steam?

thanks

Once all the air pockets have worked their way out of the system it ussually flows coolant. Its a good way to see if you have removed all the air from the system.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure those are supposed to flow fluid through them.

Thanks. I guess I will bleed the system a few times and see what that does.

I pulled the drivers side head last weekend and the crossover tube was leaking a small amount of coolant...if that helps any?
