Apparently I have a coolant fan problem. While the car is moving it cools fine. but as soon as I get in traffic or lights the temp begins to climb. I have a 97 Lt1. I am new to this vehicle. Most likely cause? Relay?

I didn't know how many pages of posts it would take to get it right, so I thought I would save you the trouble.

 

no more than about 5 or 6 more and I would have nailed it. But thanks anyway shoe.

 

More than likely a relay. Hopefully not an ECU signal interuption. Those can be a pain to track down.

 

Doesn't sound like he has a problem at all, just normal for the conditions in which he is driving. If his temp gauge was pegged in the red, then I would start to worry. You also have to figure these cars do run warm from the factory.
