Connecting to the switched power block
Connecting to the switched power block
Hey guys.
What kind of wire connector do I need (or how do I connect it) to connect a hot wire for an ignition timing retard module to that little dist. block in the fuse box connected to the orange wire?
I can tell that the orange wire is 12V switched power, and right next to it is an open terminal kind of thing... but I can't figure out what kind of connection it is. I need to get my 18ga power wire permanently connected to that.
Can anyone help me out?
TIA!

Spade tip? Is that a male connector? Because this one called a "spade terminal" (http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=64%2D3127) sure doesn't look like it'd fit this terminal on the fuse box.
Are you talking about the connectors that have male plugs that are flat thin pieces of metal that insert into female connectors that are flat and thin enough for the male plug to enter? They're called "quick disconnect" type (http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=64%2D3132).
Or another kind? I tried the one above and the male plug won't fit into that terminal.
Is it a "bullet terminal" (http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=64%2D3047)?
Hopefully it's one of the above. Please let me know what you think. Thanks again for your help.
EDIT: I think I realize what you're saying now... you mean I should plug it in on the TOP side of the fuse box, not underneath where the orange wire connects, right? If so, then I'd think I'd need a male quick disconnect connector, right?

Plug it in on the fuse side.

Well, I can't do that because the terminal is already taken up by a fuse.
How else can I do this?

Just plug in there.
