Computer tuning and fuel pressure

My car is relatively stock, my only mods are cold air, cat-back and a 85mm Maf. My question is, I have been wanting to get a computer tune to take advantage of the new Maf. At the same time I could adjust the fuel pressuare. Do I need to have a adjustable pressure regulator on the car, or will the computer tune reduce the pressure itself?

Thanks.

I don't think you'll need any change in the stock fuel pressure. The computer can't adjust fuel pressure; it adjusts the duty cycle (how long your injectors spray) to adjust the air/fuel ratio.

Re: Computer tuning and fuel pressure

I have seen some stock LT1's gain some hp from a fuel pressure change. I just know that if I put a FPR on there then computer will learn the new pressure and fire longer. So, do I need a FPR or will a computer tune alone change it. I guess the question is having a shorter duty cycle like having a FPR, either way there will be less fuel. I'm pretty sure my car runs rich, atleast that is what my A/F ratio gauge says.

IMO, the computer tune would be the more bang for the buck choice. They can lean it out as well as a few other things to help make more power. An afpr to add or take away a lil fuel pressure will do just that and nothing else.

Changing the fuel pressure on a relatively stock engine will not gain you more power. Leave the fuel pressure regulator stock and get the car dyno tuned.
