compression test resaults

compression test resaults

I did compression test last night. Just wanted to compare with othere high mileage lt1.My car was 122,000 on the clock and it read like this,
2-215
4-220
6-210
8-215

1-220
3-215
5-220
7-210
THe guage i was useing was about one or two pounds off,i believe. But i still thikn i had good numbers. what do you guy think ??!!

Gauges are not necessarily accurate so consistency is what you look for which you have. Those numbers are actually high enough to make me question the accuracy of the mgauge but again consistency is key.

He's right. Your average compression is 215.625, which means that your biggest variance is less than 3%.


Regardless of the accuracy of the specific numbers, that's the important part.

Like said before just look for a big difference inbetween cylinders. If you have a chiltons or haynes manual it should have those numbers.
