compression #'s??
compression #'s??
ok, since i have everything outta the way im checking the c/r on the 93. how many psi should a plain jane 93 Z28 have?? 125,000 miles on the clock, cyl. 1 is right at 210 psi. any help is great. thanx.
From what i'v gathered anything from 130-160 seems good, and they all should be farily close on all cylinders, and a min. of 100PSI. kinda weird your getting 210, maybe your doin it wrong, i'm not sure?
210!?
The thing to look for when doing a compression test is consistency between all cylinders and/or abnormally low readings.
If you're looking to determine the health of a particular cylinder I'd recommend doing a leakdown test.

210 is very good and very normal. You will see some differences between testers but I checked my 97 when it had less than 10k on the clock and it ranged from 205 to 208 with stock everything. With my cam now it is about 180. Anyway as mentioned minimal variance between cylinders is what you are looking for. But if all cylinders are 200 plus everything is good.
