Compression Ratio

I have used a couple of the calculators and have gotten static compression ratio. I'm not sure that I totally believe them and once I get my cam timing card I'm going to figure my dynamic compression ratio. Right now I think my compression ratio is 11.6:1. The figures I used were:

Bore: 4.030
Stroke: 3.48
Rod: 6.00
Piston: -4 cc
Head CC: 55
Gasket Thickness: 0.043
Gaske Bore: 4.060

I know my block was decked approx. 0.013 to make the surface smooth and even. If I am correct in assuming the stock deck is 9.025 then my deck height would now be 9.010. This is the figure I used and also the only figure I'm not %100 sure about. Could someone please verify my deck height to let me know if I am right.

Thanks,
Anthony

Re: Compression Ratio

SBC deck hight is supposed to be 9.025 but it varies around that, the tolarances are not that tight.
I've measured the all piston depths on both LT1 engines and they vary between 0.02 to 0.03 if I remember correctly.
That figure looks high for the stated values which are not far of from stock.

That's what I figured too. I've several different calculators and they all give me at least 11.2 and the highest was 11.6. I only found 3 dynamic compresison calculators and my DCR was around 10 or 10.4:1. Using the search I found other posts and everyone says that is high and 9:1 is what I should be around. Does advance that is ground into the cam cause the numbers to change at all. I didn't think it would since using the IVC takes that into account, right?

Thanks,
Anthony
