Compression?

ive seen guys say that when they go get there car dyno tuned that they can lower the compression so they dont have denotation, since they can lower it is there anyway to make it higher?

Re: Compression?

They don't lower the compression on a dyno tune, they retard the timing to prevent detonation.

Re: Compression?

really? i could sware i read on a thread someone bored there 350 to a 383 and supercharged it but had to lower the compression from 10.5 to 9.5 so denotation didnt occur....

When it comes to forced induction it is wise to reduce compression once you hit a certain PSI. But I don't see how you could lower compression through a dynotune, they just pulled back the timing.

Re: Compression?

Lowering the compression ain't happening without major engine modifications.
