Yeah I know.. The springs came with AFR heads and they toldme that they will change the pressure to 160lbs.. Maybe I would go with Morel lifters and forget about valvetrain.. My valves are 2.080" ..

Ya should be OK without the rev kit, unless ye are going above 7000 in witch case it won't help anyway. Hyd cams and lifters weren't made to go that high. The stock lifters will be OK if they are in good shape.Just set them at 1/8 turn after they quit clacking and don't make any noise & gotta tighten slowly.(set um running)

No need for a rev-kit, listen to Larry on that. The beehives are more than enough, especially with what you are getting with it ;-)

A couple questions then. While the car is a high mileage daily driver, I plan on doing road racing with it with 7000RPM shifts. If you feel I don't need a rev kit, should I put that money towards something like Morell(sp?) lifters?

Also, do you feel the $100 extra cost for titanium retainers is worth the cost over the steel ones?

Thank you for the help!

No, you don't need a rev kit.

Better lifters would always be a plus, Morel's are my first choice.

The Ti retainers help lower the mass even more, they are expensive but they do help gain that extra little bit in durabilty, valve control and RPM.

Thanks. I always like saving money (even though I will actually spend more now )

At least now I don't have to wait for a rev kit to be shipped to me, and I can get my heads and intake sent out right away. Maybe I can put the Morel's on lay-away. Anything that is going to make the motor durable, I'm for.

hey Bret I see you say no need a rev kit, but my engine is built with rev kit.. So when I get the engine by shipping should I throw away it and get a set of morels? I get it because I just wanted to be safe (and wanted to get my mind free) I don't want any big trouble because of rev kit off course..

BTW: I saw tons of people use rev kit and this is the first time I see the damaged engines by rev kit..

Ya can take it out, shouldn't be a problem.
"Tons of people"may not know they have a problem. How many ya know that have torn their engine down to see if there is a problem and if there was, did they figure out what caused the problem or could it be they blamed it on something else,ya just never know. Like I said 2 engines was enough for me,and I didn't find the problem right away,it took several days of looking and inspecting to find it.

Yeah just a good supplier for them. They buy a ton from Morel so it works out well for me, I never run out.
