Exclamation Comp Cam Pro Mag 1.6 RR's

Are The Comp Cams Pro Magnum 1.6 Rati orocker arms (p/n# CCA-1302-16) Self Aligning or Non Self Aligning. I cant find it on their website, on jegs, or on summit. If they are SA, whats the part number for NSA, and whats the part number for the guide plates I will need. Thanks!

#1302 is NSA with a 3/8" rocker stud. Why not get #1305, which uses a 7/16" stud (a little stronger and studs are cheap)? The guideplates you need will depend on the head you are using.

Be sure you change your valve springs if you still
have the stock ones. The exhaust is too close for
comfort with the addition of 1.6s. I used the GMPP
LT4 Hot springs cause they were cheap.

Actually if you see yourself adding more mods down
the road you should move to a spring that will take
you to that point and save a lot of installation time.
I was not smart enough to do that so I now need to
install a second set of springs to match a new cam.

Use GM guideplate p/n 14011051 if you are using regular LT1 heads. You will need 8.

How and if, Does using guide plates affect valvetrain geometry and pushrod length?

Guideplates do not require dikfferent length pushrods but they do require hardened pushrods.

AdamZ1LE28;

I don't think (correct me if I am wrong) '96 Camaros use guide plates. I know my '97 doesn't. If you want to use guide plates, you have to get your heads machined to make room for the guide plates.

The factory engines don't use guideplates at all. If you swap to non self-aligning rocker arms, then you would install guideplates. You do not use guideplates with the stock or any self-aligning rockers.
No head machining is required for guideplates on LT1 heads.

It doesn't! What is does affect, is the positioning of the rocker tip (roller) on the valve stem. It is supposed to locate evenly, on the stem. Do not expect the #14011051 to locate rocker on any given valve stem with precision.
