Comp 941 install height
Comp 941 install height
Ok so i bought this car and i know it has stock valves and comp 941 springs. I was wondering if anyone knows what a standard install height of these springs is. Im not sure what kind of retainers were used, but i dont think they were TI.
My main reason for asking is I have a set of 1.6 rockers and im thinking of putting these on. The 1.6 rockers would put the lift at .576. If installed at 1.8" then it would be fine because coil bind occurs at 1.130 which is .670. If it was installed at 1.75, then it would put the springs pretty close to coil bind at .576 lift.
Any thoughts?

There is no "correct" installed height for a given spring. You choose the installed height to give the desired seat pressure. Obviously, if the IH for the desired seat pressure doesn't give you enough travel for the amount of lift you have, you need a different set of springs. The 941 is listed as 135lbs at 1.75" and 113lbs at 1.80". 113lbs should be ok at relatively low rpm with your Ti retainers. How fast do you plan to rev it?

Cam doesnt affect seat pressure. Install height and spring rate/unstretched height affects seat pressure.
Cam affects lift thus open pressure.
Do you think I am ok reving to 6600?
