Come on guys, which CAI?
Come on guys, which CAI?
Theres the single tube aftermarket ones that sell on ebay for say around 50$. Then u got ya K&N CAI's which i think is overrated. What about the SLP dual tube CAI? Are they Better than the single Tube or equal? Gimme some advice ppl. I want the SLP but i want to get some opinions first. Thanks

Must agree... you can overrate the expensive ones but make sure you know what you are purchasing for $50.00 i have the K&N i would go with slp over it though.
Re: Come on guys, which CAI?
the e-bay model is far from a CAI,you can make your own better for the same price that will actually gulp cold air....
LPE,SLP,MOROSO and K&N spend a bunch of time with R&D work to give us a legal powerful product it costs $ but so does our hobby

Re: Come on guys, which CAI?
CAI manufacturers spend quite a lot of money and time engineering their intakes to install easy and perform as well as look good.
Ebay bargins take plastic or random bent tubes and use cheap rubber collers or tape then a name brand look a like filter. (Most that advertise K&N are lieing).
Don't waste your money once you gamble all you can do is give a negative feedback then they come back and lower your score too... no thanks. I won't take my chances to save $120 (you can get a REAL K&N CAI from summit for $170!)

Re: Come on guys, which CAI?
I got the SLP, moroso, and i'm about to get the k&n. I had the slp first and let my friend borrow it for the strip and before I got it back, my friends cousin crashed his car into a fence and bent the hell out of it. So after that I picked up the moroso which is in my car currently. Another one of my friends junked his ta and said he would send me his k&n for free since he won't be needing it. Out of the SLP and moroso, i'd say they are the same performance wise but the SLP definately looks better under the hood.
Re: Come on guys, which CAI?
I've had the Calloway Honker on my old Z28 and now I have the SLP. I can't say which on is better......I think they're both nice pieces, but for looks, SLP hands down!
Peace,
Mike

Re: Come on guys, which CAI?
You can't go wrong with any of the big name brands. I am pretty happy with the Moroso CAI, the fitment is excellent and they are a decent price brand new. As Robvas mentioned above, people sell them pretty cheap in the classifieds for 50-75 bucks at times.
Re: Come on guys, which CAI?
how do you guys feel these types of CAI kits rate to buying a ram air hood and the box that goes wit it? Anyone tried to retro fit and LS1 intake box to an LT1? We might pick up a few more HP by the path of least resistance (ie LS1 style vs our curved intake tube).
FWIW make sure the intake is plastic or composite so it doesn't turn into a head soak.
